Purpose: Toddler Time introduces children to quality literature in an entertaining and enriching atmosphere. It provides the child with an opportunity to learn new words, to be exposed to new concepts, and to interact with new friends in a group experience. Toddler Time acquaints children with a wide range of library materials and resources, as well as encourages the development of a lifelong love of books and reading.
Program: Each weekly Toddler Time session is approximately 25 minutes in length. Toddler Time sessions are thematic based and may include flannel board stories, fingerplays, singing, poetry, creative dramatics, puppetry and crafts. Parents and children are encouraged to extend the magic of Toddler Time by borrowing library materials and sharing Toddler Time fingerplays, stories, songs, and experiences with family and friends at home.
Who is invited? Toddlers 18-35 months old accompanied by a caregiver.
